I am a mid-twenty-something who lives in Austin, Texas. I am currently choosing to stay anonymous so it is easier for me to write and build my confidence in this new medium. I am a University of Texas graduate and work in corporate accounting for a large Texas-based company. Although I love my job, it offers little chance to use creativity (sure you have to innovate but it's not that kind of creativity) so I tend to be drawn to activities that use the other half of my brain outside of work. That includes cooking new dishes, card making, and now blogging! When the weekend rolls around, I tend to try to get outdoors or go see some live music.
The products of my kitchen tend to be healthy (I'm not opposed to slipping some disguised flax seed into almost any dish) or so good that it's worth the calories (I love one of Blue Bell's latest ice cream flavors Coconut Fudge--it's not worth putting down). Dining out is a social occasion for me, and it regularly inspires me to try new foods and improvements in my own dishes. Also, it's just plain nice to let others do the work sometimes.
Some other quick notes: I like good grammar (feel free to call me out if you see otherwise), innovative products, odd information, and things that just make life easier, healthier, or more interesting. I believe in the oxford comma (both the grammatical tool and the Vampire Weekend song) and two spaces after a period. I guess that makes me old fashioned. I also will often include links to informative sites, even if the posting is not all that informative, because if you are anything like me (and I hope you are), you will similarly enjoy the odd fact here and there.
I am engaged to a wonderful man whom I will call Fiance. We often cook together so he deserves note for a lot of the recipes I will post. Also, our wedding is in April of 2013 so as we approach it, I might make some related posts, but I will try to keep it under control :)
Everything I write about, I genuinely enjoy and have a keen eagerness to share.
